Quinta Toca do Douro refers to another project that emerges in the valleys of the Cinfães municipality. The purpose of this intervention is to expand the existing single-family dwelling and rehabilitate the pre-existing architecture.

The urban planning operation aims to preserve the architectural language of the existing buildings, in terms of exterior walls, while simultaneously presenting a new architectural language regarding the plan and volume of the roofs and their respective cladding.

In the single-family dwelling, the intention is to maintain the current use of the respective floors; specifically, the ground floor will remain as a storage area, and the first floor will continue to function as a dwelling. Therefore, regarding the interior intervention, this proposal aims at the functional reorganization of the first floor, where it is intended to implement a one-bedroom (T1) dwelling.

In terms of functional organization, the first floor will be reorganized to have three spaces: an open-plan social area serving as an entrance, living and dining room, and kitchenette; a sleeping area intended as a bedroom; and finally, a bathroom that will spatially divide these two spaces (social area and sleeping area). The proposed changes ultimately triggered the need to open more windows in the main façade (north façade) in order to transform these spaces into habitable areas, while still allowing them to enjoy the privileged view of the Douro River.
