At the top of Rua do Ribeiro, specifically in Lugar de Souto in Santa Maria da Feira, stands the first Casa do Ribeiro. The proposal for this intervention consisted of the rehabilitation and remodeling of the old, traditional single-family house. Due to the work being done on pre-existing architecture, the layout of the site, as well as the façade facing the public road, did not undergo alterations. However, it was necessary to rethink, in its entirety, the architectural composition of the interior spaces.

Meeting the client's needs, two housing units were designed, separated from each other by the interior courtyard. The first unit, and the smaller one, consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, and an open-plan living room/kitchen. To the north, we find the second unit, which comprises the rest of the area of Casa do Ribeiro. Here we can observe a T2 type dwelling: where the social area, such as the living room and kitchen, is located on the ground floor, and the sleeping area, with two suites, is found on the upper floor.

The rear of the house features a magnificent patio-garden, where one can enjoy the sunset sun. Here, we find a granary, a stone shed, and a variety of tree species scattered throughout the grounds. Casa do Ribeiro, as a product of sustainable design, is characterized by traditional architecture that values living spaces and respects the integrity of the environment.
