Over the years, Rua do Ribeiro, in Santa Maria da Feira, has hosted another intervention carried out by our studio. This time, the object of our study was a derelict building that needed to be rebuilt and converted into a single-family home.

The side facade facing the access street was fully rehabilitated, while the rear elevation was redesigned to make better use of the interior spaces. As a result, part of the attached building was demolished and a structure supported by an arcade was designed in its place. The new solution allowed for an increase in the usable space of the house and the creation of a covered outdoor living area.

The house's layout defines a T3 (three-bedroom) dwelling spread over two floors. On the ground floor, we find the main living room with a guest bathroom. Next, there is the kitchen with another toilet, and at the back of the house, a second living room. On the upper floor, we find the sleeping area, consisting of a bedroom and two suites.

The large backyard offers space for parking several cars, as well as for outdoor activities or simply relaxing. The resulting intervention allows residents to experience the peace of the rural environment and fully connect with nature.
