In the valleys of Lugar de Pala, located in the municipality of Baião, a two-story single-family house was designed. The perimeter of the house follows the morphology of the land: the facade facing the public road adapts to the curvature of the street and assumes an organic character, while the opposite elevation opens onto the panoramic view over the Douro River.

Due to the configuration of the land, with its steep topography, the ground floor of the house is one floor below the main access road. To allow light and ventilation to the rooms located on the embankment, a patio-garden was designed inside the house. The wall separating the path from the facade of the building is "perforated" by circular openings. Thus, a unique combination of characteristics was created: on the one hand, it became difficult to understand the internal composition of the house from the outside, and on the other hand, the circular openings ensure the passage of light and create a play of "opaque" and "transparent" in its interior.

Moving on to the internal configuration of the house, it can be observed that the ground floor is divided into social and service areas. Here are located the entrance hall, the garage, the laundry room, the open-plan kitchen with the living room, a bedroom with an accessible bathroom and jacuzzi. The first floor consists of three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, an auxiliary room for various uses, and a suite, composed of a full bathroom, bedroom and dressing room.

At the other end of the plot, to the south, an outdoor swimming pool was planned. The gable of the neighboring house was concealed by extending the cedars that surround the front of the house, thus closing the footprint of the entire building.
