The “Casa do Monte” project originated from a pre-existing building, previously intended for permanent residence. The desire to preserve a work of traditional character and respect the local language meant that the volume, the layout, and the cladding materials were not altered. Subsequently, the previous construction was restored and the interior spaces were reorganized.

The program serves the functions of a rural hotel, consisting of: a living and dining room, and a private area for food preparation, with a kitchen, pantry, dressing room, and bathroom. On the ground floor, there is a bathroom to support the living room, a general storage room for laundry and linen, and a garbage room.

The “Casa do Monte” stands out in the landscape through its granite and slate facade, thus preserving the features of the typical architecture of the region.
