THE STORY
Atelier Nonarquitetura is a company specializing in sustainable architecture and design, founded in May 2012 by architect João Paulo de Jesus Lemos Vieira.
In collaboration with a constantly evolving team, the office has become a working platform where everyone contributes to realizing ideas and solving problems inherent to the activity. The projects stemming from our thinking are the result of experimentation and reflection on the harmony between architecture, the environment, and humankind.
João Paulo de Jesus Lemos Vieira was born in the city of Espinho and completed his academic studies at FAUP in 1998. Years before founding his studio, the architect honed his professional skills through collaboration with several architectural firms in the city of Porto. With an architectural approach inspired by the site where he works, and a constructive dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary, his work has been recognized on various international websites.
In his constant pursuit of being at the forefront of architecture, he has participated in various design competitions. In the name of a new architectural approach, the architect designs spaces that journey through his dreams – the fruits of readings from his extensive library, the source of his daily inspiration.
Throughout his career, he has worked in various rural and urban settings, creating residential, institutional, business, commercial, and tourism-related spaces. His professional path is marked by an ambition to create harmonious architecture, meticulously planned down to the last detail.

Our professional journey is guided by a relentless pursuit of knowledge about architecture in the society in which we live. What we design reflects not only our constant research into traditional techniques and practices, but also the study of methods and practices of avant-garde architecture.
